Following the league’s announcement that WNBA President Lisa Borders will step down from her position at the league and become the President and CEO of TIME’S UP, WNBPA President Nneka Ogwumike provided the following statement:

“The WNBPA joins me in expressing our sincerest appreciation for the service and leadership that Lisa Borders provided to our league. We congratulate Lisa on her new position with TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund, an organization dedicated to providing survivors of sexual harassment with immediate access to comprehensive legal and communications assistance. Likewise, it is encouraging to know that Lisa will be helping lead the charge that will inspire and empower everyone – women and men – to make meaningful change.”
